Setting the tone early on in an innings. That’s what separates winners from champions. And our Sher, Prabhsimran Singh, did exactly that, taking it upon himself to put the LSG bowlers under pressure right from the start in our recent win in IPL 2025!

Playing just our second game of the season, he stepped up despite the early loss of his opening partner, Priyansh Arya, while chasing 172. Our young wicketkeeper-batter kept his composure, bringing us within touching distance of victory with a blistering 69 off just 34 balls. His knock, laced with 9 fours and 3 sixes, rattled the LSG bowlers at every opportunity. By the time he departed, we were already in cruise control, and our skipper, Shreyas Iyer, ensured we got the job done comfortably.

Early days and entry into IPL

Born on August 10, 2000, in Patiala, Punjab, Prabhsimran showcased his cricketing prowess early in domestic circuits. His explosive batting in age-group cricket, especially in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, caught the attention of IPL scouts. In the 2019 IPL auction, we secured his services, marking the beginning of his journey in the tournament.

The initial seasons were challenging for Prabhsimran. Despite limited opportunities, he displayed glimpses of his potential. Not only did he dominate with the bat, but his sharp glovework behind the stumps added another layer to his impact on the team.

His recent assault against Lucknow Super Giants was a perfect example, he put their bowlers to the sword with fearless strokeplay.
