Several of our bowlers had a noteworthy TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 campaign. Let’s take a detailed look at their performances:

Arshdeep Singh:

Our bowling spearhead, Arshdeep Singh, was our leading wicket-taker this season. The left-arm pacer picked up 17 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 29.

His match-winning four-wicket haul against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium was one for the ages. Defending 15 runs in the final over, the 24-year-old cleaned up MI batters Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera with back-to-back yorkers, which broke the stump into halves on both occasions.

Arshdeep also played a role in our victories over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Nathan Ellis:

Australian pacer, Nathan Ellis, was one of our exceptional performers with the ball this season. The 28-year-old right-arm pacer scalped 13 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 26.07 and an economy of 8.92.

Ellis’ brilliant spell of 4-0-30-4 in Guwahati powered our team to a nail-biting win over Rajasthan Royals.

He took two wickets at 6.50 economy against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Ellis’s pivotal role in helping us register a clinical victory in our must-win encounter.

Harpreet Brar:

Our left-arm spinner, Harpreet Brar, was one of our key bowlers this season. The Meerut-born cricketer finished the campaign with nine wickets in 13 matches at an average of 24.22 and an economy of 8.02.

Brar grabbed the headlines after he dismissed RCB’s Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell in consecutive deliveries in our home encounter at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

Brar once again stole the limelight when he produced a game-changing, four-wicket spell against DC at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Rahul Chahar:

Our talented leg-spinner, Rahul Chahar, was another consistent performer with the ball. The 23-year-old claimed eight wickets in 14 matches. Chahar has also registered the second-best economy among our bowlers, an excellent 7.75 to put pressure on the batters this season.

The India international restricted the run flow of the opposition in the middle overs at one end. He played a key role in our victories over KKR and DC.
