Our bowling unit has been impressive in the ongoing edition of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL). After the first half of the 2023 season, we relive some of the most memorable bowling spells from our Shers:

Arshdeep Singh’s Jaw-Dropping 4-for At Wankhede:

Our pace bowling sensation, Arshdeep Singh, produced one of the most memorable bowling performances against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium. Arshdeep was up in the last over to defend 15 runs in the high-scoring encounter. He cleaned up Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera with two back-to-back lethal yorkers and, in the process, broke the middle stump on both occasions. The 24-year-old finished the match with figures of 4-0-29-4 to help us secure a 13-run victory.

Nathan Ellis’ Match-winning Spell vs RR

Nathan Ellis was the wrecker-in-chief for our thrilling five-run win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. The 28-year-old right-arm pacer bagged the wickets of Jos Buttler and the RR captain Sanju Samson, which put the Royals under immense pressure. He later dismissed Riyan Parag and Devdutt Padikkal too. Ellis’ match-winning spell helped us bag two crucial points. For his figures of 4-0-30-4, Ellis was adjudged the Player of the Match.

Sam Curran’s Impactful Spell vs LSG

Our stand-in captain, Sam Curran, stole the limelight against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) with his best bowling figures on his captaincy debut of TATA IPL. Curran took the wickets of Marcus Stoinis, Krishnappa Gowtham and Yudhvir Singh. He conceded 31 runs in his quota of four overs. Curran’s brilliant spell in the death overs helped us restrict LSG to 159/8. Later, our batters completed the chase to register our third win of the season.

Arshdeep Singh’s Banger vs KKR

Arshdeep Singh, our bowling spearhead, once again features in this list for his disciplined 3-for. The left-arm pacer troubled Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) top order in our opening clash of TATA IPL 2023. Defending 191, Arshdeep dismissed Mandeep Singh and Anukul Roy in his first over to put KKR on the back foot. Later, he dismissed Venkatesh Iyer. Arshdeep’s stunning spell helped us to clinch a victory at our home den, Mohali. Having registered figures of 3-0-19-3, Arshdeep won the Player of the Match award.
