Our boys have produced some notable performances in the ongoing edition of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL). With the tournament entering its second half, we look at some of the outstanding performers so far.

Shikhar Dhawan

Our captain, Shikhar Dhawan, has led from the front with the bat in TATA IPL 2023. The southpaw amassed 233 runs in four matches at a staggering average of 116.50 while maintaining a strike rate of 146.54. The 37-year-old smashed two fifties. His highest score is 99*. Gabbar is, as of date, seventh on the list for smashing most number of fours (29) so far. We certainly hope our skipper will return with a bang soon.

Arshdeep Singh

Our premier fast bowler, Arshdeep Singh, is enjoying a purple patch. The left-arm pacer has tormented the batters this season, having claimed 13 wickets in seven matches at an average of 15.69 and an economy of just 8.16. He is one of the Purple Cap contenders and is, as of date, one wicket away from the top spot. Arshdeep’s match-winning four-wicket haul against Mumbai Indians will be remembered for ages to come. He will aim to continue his impressive form in the second half of the tournament.

Sam Curran

Sam Curran has showcased spectacular leadership skills in the absence of Shikhar Dhawan. Under Curran’s captaincy, we have secured thrilling wins over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI). The 24-year-old has contributed with both the bat and the ball. Curran has scored 142 runs in seven matches, including his match-winning fifty against MI at Wankhede. He has also scalped five wickets at an economy of 8.85.

Prabhsimran Singh

Our swashbuckling opener, Prabhsimran Singh, is the second-highest run-getter from our team. The 22-year-old has scored 159 runs in seven matches at an excellent strike rate of 159. The Patiala-born cricketer registered his maiden IPL fifty against Rajasthan Royals, which guided us to a five-run victory in Guwahati. The opener will play a significant role for us in the second half of the tournament.

Jitesh Sharma

Our wicketkeeper-batter, Jitesh Sharma, has been our standout player in the middle order. The 29-year-old has accumulated 145 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 149.48. Jitesh has played some eye-catching cameos, including a seven-ball 25 against Mumbai Indians. We hope he continues his blitzkrieg in the matches to come.
