We have witnessed some scintillating batting displays from our Shers in the ongoing TATA Indian Premier League (IPL). With the 2023 edition almost reaching the midway mark, we look back at a few of the standout batting performances from our boys:

Shikhar Dhawan’s Awe-inspiring 99* vs SRH:

Shikhar Dhawan played a knock for the ages as he scored an unbeaten 99 off just 66 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. His innings included 12 fours and five maximums. Struggling at 88/9, Dhawan forged a 55-run stand with Mohit Rathee, which is, to date, the highest 10th wicket stand in TATA IPL history. We ended on the losing side but for his unforgettable knock, Dhawan was named the Player of the Match.

Sam Curran’s Breathtaking 55 At Wankhede:

Our stand-in captain Sam Curran smashed a brilliant fifty against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. The 24-year-old clobbered the MI bowlers to all parts of the ground. Curran stitched a 92-run stand with Harpreet Singh Bhatia for the fifth wicket to put us in a great position. Curran’s 29-ball 55 powered to a mammoth score of 214/8 and set the stage for our fourth victory.

Sikandar Raza’s Match-Winning 57 In Lucknow:

Our accomplished all-rounder Sikandar Raza played a match-winning knock against Lucknow Super Giants to help us register a memorable away win. Coming at number 5, Raza established crucial partnerships with Harpreet Bhatia and Sam Curran to keep us on the hunt. Raza created history as he became the first Zimbabwean cricketer to score a fifty in the TATA IPL. Raza’s 57 off 41 balls helped us clinch a last-over thriller.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s Impressive 50 vs KKR:

Our stylish southpaw, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, slammed a dazzling half-century against Kolkata Knight Riders in our season opener at our home den, Mohali. Batting at no.3, Rajapaksa scored 50 off 32 balls to help us post a huge total of 191/5. Rajapaksa’s first TATA IPL fifty was laced with five fours and two sixes. His innings paved the path to start our campaign on a high note.

Prabhsimran’s Jaw-dropping 60 vs RR:

Our young batter, Prabhsimran Singh mesmerized us with a spectacular half-century against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati. Coming in as our impact player, Prabhsimran scored 60 off just 34 balls to provide us with a sensational start. The 22-year-old’s swashbuckling knock provided us with a great platform as we posted 197/4. Our boys went on to bag two crucial points.
