The IPL Auction is just a few days away and our think tank is busy preparing themselves for what lies ahead. This is the first time that the IPL Auction is being held outside India; this time the location is Dubai. The event will be held at the iconic Coca Cola Arena in Dubai on December 19, 2023, starting at 1:00 pm IST.
Before the Auction, we held onto 17 players and have ₹29.1 crore left to fill up to 8 remaining spots, 2 of which are for international players after we released Bhanuka Rajapaksa from Sri Lanka and Australia's Matthew Short. There are 333 players available for selection this year, with a maximum of 77 spots to be filled, including 30 for overseas players.
Many big players have registered for the auction. One of the most interesting prospects will be Mitchell Starc, who recently helped Australia lift the World Cup. One of his teammates, Travis Head, also makes an appearance. Pat Cummins too returns to the fray after missing out in 2023.
The focus, however, will be on Indian players, both capped and uncapped.
Our Squad heading into the Auction is strong and well-rounded: Shikhar Dhawan, Jitesh Sharma, Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh, Liam Livingstone, Harpreet Bhatia, Atharva Taide, Rishi Dhawan, Sam Curran, Sikandar Raza, Shivam Singh, Harpreet Brar, Arshdeep Singh, Kagiso Rabada, Nathan Ellis, Rahul Chahar, Vidwath Kaverappa.
With a few major players up for grabs, we are all set to have an exciting Auction ahead!
