With four wins on the trot, Kings XI Punjab continue their upward movement in the 2020 Dream11 Indian Premier League points table. Their poor start, which saw them win just once in the first seven games seems to have become a forgotten memory, as KL Rahul’s has grown from strength to strength in the past couple of weeks.
Kings XI Punjab skipper KL Rahul is delighted with the turn in fortunes for his franchise, and believes his side have the right momentum to go further in the competition. “Yes, we are making winning a habit. In the first half we somehow couldn't make this a habit. I am just speechless right now to be honest. Very happy with the show from the boys,” said Rahul in a post-match interview.
“The work done is always behind the scenes, not just the players, but the support staff. You can't change much in a player in two months but you can always make them mentally better and that's what coach Kumble (Anil), Andy (Flower), Charl (Langeveldt), Jonty (Rhodes) and Wasim (Jaffer) have done,” added the opening batsman.
Rahul’s words were echoed by fast bowler Chris Jordan as well, who revealed that the team always had the faith for turning things around despite their poor start to the competition.“Feel great, proud of the team. We had a tough start, but we kept the belief. The coaches and the teams are trying their best to get the best combination, to win four in a row is really pleasing,” said the English fast-bowler.
Kings XI Punjab have managed to address the concerns that cost them in the previous games, improving on their death bowling and their middle-overs batsmanship. Heading into their crucial tie against Kolkata Knight Riders, the team management and players would be full of confidence to continue this ‘winning habit’ and making it to the playoffs.
