Himachal Pradesh left-arm spinner Mayank Dagar broke the back of Baroda’s batting line-up after he dismissed half of their side to finish with his career-best List A figures of 5/27 in a rain-affected Vijay Hazare Trophy match in Alur, Bengaluru on Thursday.
In the Elite Group A division game, Baroda got off to a flyer but Dagar drew first blood for his side and got rid of two top order batsmen after which the batting side never recovered. The 21-year-old then picked a wicket in each of his last three overs to dismiss Baroda for a paltry 153. Himachal Pradesh looked like chasing the below-par total in a canter, but rain intervened in the 12th over and the match was called off.
