Playing for Sylhet Sixers, Nicholas Pooran has hit a fine run of form in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League and has emerged as one of the top run-getters early in the tournament.
On Saturday, he walked in a 29/4 chasing the 173/7 scored by Dhaka Dynamites and peppered nine sixes and a four in his 47-ball 72. As wickets continued to fall and Sylhet found themselves at 75/7, he forged a 50-run stand for the eighth wicket off 34 deliveries with Taskin Ahmed to give his side some hope.
In his last 12 balls, he plundered 38 runs with the help of four maximums as the Sixers found themselves needing 49 off another 15. It's here when he holed out and perished, nine short of his highest T20 score.
Nic Pooran looks effortless for @SylhetSixers... Did well in India last year. Looking good for IPL and #KXIP already...#BPL #BPLSeason6 pic.twitter.com/y0dv3xo1P3

In the three matches in the BPL so far, Pooran has scored 41 (26), 52* (32) and now 72 amounting to 165 runs at average of 82.50. The Kings XI Punjab pick was named Man of the Match for the unbeaten knock against the Chittagong Vikings.
The 23-year-old is just 21 runs away from the highest-run scorer in the league so far, the 186 piled by South African Rilee Rossouw in his four matches.
It's been Pooran's best streak in T20s so far.
