Punjab Kings’ lead pacer Arshdeep Singh achieved the incredible milestone of 50 wickets in the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) when he dismissed Ishan Kishan of Mumbai Indians (MI) during their clash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 22.

Arshdeep reached the landmark in 44 matches at an average of 23.74 and an economy of 8.32.

Arshdeep's TATA IPL debut in 2019:

The 24-year-old made his TATA IPL debut for the Punjab franchise against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, on April 16, 2019.

Arshdeep bagged his maiden wicket after he removed the Royals’ opener Jos Buttler for 23. He continued his good day by dismissing Ajinkya Rahane and ended in a winning cause.

The left-arm pacer played three matches in the 2019 season before he was retained by the Punjab Kings’ in the 2020 auction.

Continued Consistency:

Arshdeep regained the franchise’s faith as he scalped nine wickets in eight matches during the 2020 edition of the IPL.

A year later, Arshdeep continued his impressive run. He completed the season as the second-highest wicket-taker for the franchise, only behind Mohammed Shami. He bagged 18 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 19 and an economy of 8.27.

Following his brilliant showing in 2021, he was retained by PBKS ahead of the 2022 auction.

Having formed a lethal bowling partnership with Kagiso Rabada, Arshdeep ended the 2022 campaign with 10 wickets in 14 games at an economy of 7.70.

The India international is currently the leading wicket-taker for PBKS in the ongoing campaign. He has claimed 13 wickets in seven matches.
