Last week, Punjab Kings had two matches in Mullanpur, one against Mumbai Indians and the other against Gujarat Titans. Despite losing both games, we witnessed some outstanding performances from players like Shashank Singh, Ashutosh Sharma, Liam Livingstone, and Harshal Patel. They played exceptionally well, and it was exciting to watch them in action.
Let’s have a look at their performances over the last two games.

Ashutosh Sharma has truly been a standout performer for us this season! What's most remarkable is his ability to shine under intense pressure in every game. In our recent match against Mumbai Indians, they set a formidable target of 192 runs. Unfortunately, we stumbled early, losing four wickets for a mere 14 runs. But then, after a crucial innings from Shashank Singh, Sharma took charge. He displayed remarkable skill and confidence, aggressively taking on the bowlers, including the renowned Jasprit Bumrah. Sharma's blistering knock of 61 runs off just 28 balls brought us tantalizingly close to victory, despite ultimately falling short by a mere nine runs. His extraordinary performance yet again showcased his invaluable contribution to the team.

Shashank Singh has been a standout player in this IPL season, impressing everyone with his performance. In our match against Mumbai Indians, when we were chasing a challenging target of 192 runs. After losing four wickets for 14 runs, Shashank Singh stepped in. He took some time to settle in but then started attacking the bowlers. Singh played a great innings, scoring 41 runs off just 25 balls, which helped us get back into the game. After his dismissal, it was Ashutosh Sharma's turn to show his batting skills.
Liam Livingstone: 2/19 vs Gujarat Titans

Liam Livingstone might not have had the best time batting, but he's certainly making an impact with the ball. In a match where we posted a moderate total of 142 runs in the first innings, our bowlers needed to step up to defend it. And that's exactly what Livingstone did. He played a crucial role by taking important wickets. Firstly, he got rid of the well-set Shubman Gill, who was scoring runs consistently. Then, he dismissed the dangerous David Miller, which kept us right in the game. Livingstone bowled well, conceding only 19 runs in his four overs.
Harshal Patel: 3/15 vs Gujarat Titans
The right-arm seamer has been outstanding in his recent performances. In the last two games, he showcased his skills by bowling exceptionally well, especially during the crucial final overs. Against Mumbai Indians, he played a key role in restricting the opposition's runs during the death overs. Then, in the match against Gujarat Titans, he shined by taking three wickets. He started by dismissing Azmatullah Omarzai and later got the important wickets of Shahrukh Khan and Rashid Khan in his third over. Although his efforts came a bit late in the game, he was one of the standout performers with the ball for us.
