The Indian Premier League has seen emerging players come out of the ranks, and some have even earned caps for the Indian Cricket team setup.
The likes of Nitish Kumar Reddy, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Axar Patel and Shreyas Iyer have been some of the emerging players in the IPL in recent years to take home the accolade.
Now, following in their footsteps, our latest Shers, Priyansh Arya and Vijaykumar Vyshak are here to take the league by storm. The duo made an instant impact in our season-opening win against Gujarat Titans, delivering game-changing performances that caught everyone’s attention. As they set the stage for an electrifying season ahead, here’s everything you need to know about our newly discovered gems:
Priyansh Arya - Raw, explosive & no-nonsense
Priyansh Arya’s journey hasn’t been a smooth ride, but when the opportunity came knocking, he made sure to make it count. His power-hitting ability was on full display right before the IPL mega auction, when he smashed a stunning 102 off 43 balls in the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy opener.
That knock sparked a bidding war between three franchises, and we were thrilled to secure his services for ₹3.8 crore—a price that already looks like a steal, given his immense talent.

Priyansh announced himself in 2024 in the Delhi Premier League when he smashed six sixes in an over for the South Delhi Superstarz. He scored an unbeaten 50-ball 120 setting a record breaking partnership of 286 runs with Ayush Badoni for any wicket in a T20 match.
Our young gun was also Delhi’s highest run-scorer in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, recording a total 325 runs in just nine innings. With time on his side, Ponting and the rest of our Shers have much faith that he could end up in contention for this season’s Emerging Player of the Year.
Vijaykumar Vyshak - Scripting his own definition of Impact Player
At 28-years-old, Vijaykumar Vyshak is by no means a rookie. However, the bowler from Bangalore was just playing his 12th IPL game in his third year and was still somewhat an unknown commodity.
Fast-forward to the game at the Narendra Modi Stadium against the Gujarat Titans, he impacted the game in such a manner that very few expected him to. His influence on the game was also part thanks to brilliant planning by skipper Iyer and head coach Ponting.
We decided to bring in our trump card Vyshak for Priyansh Arya only after the Titans decided to bring their own impact player. His first two overs went for just 10 runs which turned the game in our favour and eventually the end result.

Both Priyansh Arya and Vyshak played their roles to perfection on the night and helped us execute our game plan to perfection. With a minimum of another 13 games to go in the season, our Shers are hungry as ever to prove themselves on the big stage and grab every opportunity with both hands.
