A convincing 31-run victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) has kept our boys in contention for the TATA IPL (Indian Premier League) 2023 playoffs. Prabhsimran Singh’s swashbuckling century and Harpreet Brar’s brilliant four-wicket haul helped us grab our sixth win this season.

The must-win encounter was a roller coaster ride for our team at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Put into bat first by DC captain David Warner, we lost Shikhar Dhawan’s wicket in the second over. Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma also returned in quick succession. But the young prodigy, Prabhsimran Singh, took the Delhi bowlers hell for leather. Along with Sam Curran, he formed a vital partnership of 72 runs.

Prabhsimran smashed 10 fours and 6 sixes in his sensational knock as he ascended to 103 off 65 balls. Scoring his maiden TATA IPL ton, Prabhsimran became the sixth youngest player to reach this milestone.

Here is how some famous personalities hailed the young opener:

Defending 167 runs was never an easy job. The Delhi openers were equally hell-bent to grab two crucial points. Warner and his partner, Philip Salt, made 65 runs in the powerplay. Rising in tough situations, Harpreet Brar gave us hope with Salt’s wicket. Brar continued his exhibition of skills as he scalped Warner, Rilee Russouw and Manish Pandey. Rahul Chahar and Nathan Ellis bowled tidy overs from the other end and picked up two wickets each.

But Brar stole the show as he picked up his maiden four-wicket haul in TATA IPL and took his tally to 50 wickets in T20s.

Twitter couldn’t keep calm from praising the talented spinner. Here is how they reacted:

Our stalwarts regrouped to put on a blazing all-round performance. Prabhsimran and Brar’s noteworthy show helped us jump to sixth place on the points table.

As we completed another away trip with a win, we are alive in the tournament with 12 points. The netizens were enthralled to see our boys return to winning ways and did not shy away from applauding our joint efforts.
