Our Punjab Kings are all set to host our fellow Northern compatriots the Delhi Capitals at Sadda Akhada 2.0, our new home ground, the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Cricket Stadium at Mullanpur in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday, March 23rd.

After a positive start last season, a series of injuries hampered us and we finished 8th on the points table. However, there were plenty of positives and we are optimistic about the season ahead. Our squad has undergone some changes, with additions like Chris Woakes, Rilee Rossouw, Tanay Thyagarajann, and Shashank Singh boosting our ranks. We are especially thrilled to have Jonny Bairstow back after the Englishman missed the previous season due to injury. The team has been putting in the hard yards during training, and we are confident of a successful campaign. Shikhar Dhawan is all set to have another great season with the bat and as captain and we look forward to a strong performance.

On the other hand, the Delhi Capitals also had a challenging season in IPL 2023, finishing 9th on the points table. However, they are looking stronger this time with the return of Rishabh Pant and some key signings like Jhye Richardson, Tristan Stubbs, and Jake Fraser-McGurk.

In terms of head-to-head encounters, we have faced Delhi Capitals 32 times in the IPL, with both teams winning 16 games each. We are determined to overcome their challenge and kick off our campaign on a winning note.

As the excitement builds, we are ready to give it our all on the field and make our mark in this season of the IPL. With a strong squad and determination, we are aiming for nothing less than success.
