Although regarded as India’s second innings specialist today, Mohammed Shami actually detested playing cricket when he was young. He was generally shy and reserved, scared of the season ball and had to be coaxed into playing by his brothers. ‘Happiness’ is the one thing he never leaves his house without and doesn’t need any coaxing for that either while ‘Daaru badnaam’ is his favourite song. Wonder if there’s a connection there? 🤔
